LAWRENCEBURG - Lawrenceburg girls varsity soccer edged out to 3-2 for the season with a 3-0 shutout win over Ohio stateline rival Taylor Thursday, Aug. 23.

In a typically physical battle with the visiting Yellow Jackets (0-3) at Dick Meador Stadium, three different Lady Tigers scored goals and senior goalkeeper Erin Hill registered her second shutout win in two consecutive starts.

Junior Hannah Brayton tallied the first LHS goal at 25:14 in the first half, heading home the ball off the corner kick from freshman Ryleigh Offutt.

Offutt raised the margin to 2-0 to start the second half, scoring on a bomb from 18 yards off the pass from senior Jenna Farmer.

Junior Lexi Knight gave Lawrenceburg the 3-0 cushion later in the final 40 minutes, scoring from the 6-yard line in front on the crossing assist from Offutt, who finished the day with four points.

Hill was credited with three saves in working all 80 minutes in goal for Coach Bill Offutt's crew.

Lady Tigers travel to Saturday's Center Grove Invitational to take on Class 3A foe Indianapolis North Central (2-1) at 10:30 a.m., followed by a 2:45 p.m. kickoff against CG's host Trojans (4-1).
