Carl Dewberry

Carl Dean Dewberry, 84, of Moores Hill, Ind., passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2018. He was born Dec. 7, 1933, in Catalpa, Ark.

Carl was a veteran of the U.S.  Army, a member of the Moores Hill American Legion Post 0209 and was Past Master at Tulsa Masonic Lodge 505. Before retirement, he owned many Tulsa  businesses including Pennant Petroleum, The Pump Shop and several DX full service gas stations. He held many offices in the National and Oklahoma Chapter of Honda Gold Wing Road Riders Motorcycle Association. He was an avid skeet shooter, an Oklahoma State Champion in 12 gauge, and a racing pigeon breeder.  Under the name “Sonny Dewberry,” he was a musician and recording artist.

He is survived by his daughter, Terri (Gary) Patterson of Bixby, Okla.; two sons, Robert (Tami) Foust of Jenks, Okla., and CW “Sonny” (Susan) DeGraw of Jenks, Okla.; current love and companion, Carolyn “Joy” Fisher; seven grandchildren, Tatum Dupy, Travis Foust, Austin and Lance DeGraw, Francine Erickson, David and Justin Patterson; and, he also loved as his children, Ken (Kim) Weber of Logan, Ind., Jane (Tom) Beard of Moores Hill, Ind., Sharon and Larry Fisher of Goshen, Ohio, Tommy Fisher of Owensville, Ohio, and Susan Green of Mt. Orab, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Anna (Case) Dewberry; sister, Letty Wright; and his wife, Sylvia Grace Dewberry.

Family and friends will be received Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the South Sparta Church, Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at 11:30 a.m., with Pastor Don Thomason officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Moores Hill, Ind.
